The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render companies for the community.
SASSA will likely be rendering companies which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer care enquiries, along with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a statement, the agency explained it is alarmed about the higher amount of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The intention with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the higher quantity of clients/beneficiaries read more to access SASSA services.
“This is as a result of lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no completely functional office dedicated to service the area every day. The services point created for intervention activities a substantial influx of potential beneficiaries, that makes it complicated to here the office to attend to all people who stop by a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional assets to enable the servicing of all prospects and enhance access to Social Assistance services,” the agency said.
